9 Blogging in the Age of Modern Marketing IDENTIFYING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE(S) Before you actually begin the con- tent brainstorming and creation pro- cess, it's absolutely imperative that you have a strong understanding of who you're speaking to: who's your audience, what type of people are they, what do they like/dislike, what pain points do they experience...the ability to answer detailed questions such as these allows you to create content that speaks directly to your target consumer. Since the goal is to engage with people that are most inclined to become customers, the first step is to understand who they are and then to effectively communicate with them through awesome content. 3
