Four years after embarking on an official Farewell Tour that fooled absolutely no one, McDonald’s is resurrecting its most polarizing creation well ahead of schedule. Yes, you guessed it: From Oct. 27, the McRib will begin rolling out to select McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S.
Love it or hate it, the McRib isn't going anywhere. First introduced in 1981, the sandwich features a seasoned, boneless pork patty shaped like a miniature rack of ribs, drenched in tangy barbecue sauce, and layered with onions and pickles on a toasted homestyle roll.
Rather than executing a nationwide launch, McDonald’s confirmed early availability across six hubs:
Los Angeles
Chicago
Miami
Atlanta
Philadelphia
Dallas
By staging a regional rollout instead of a nationwide release, McDonald's is deliberately feeding into that scarcity dynamic that we see in other areas like Pokémon. And because availability varies by region, blindly driving to your local drive-thru is a recipe for disappointment.
Instead, we recommend checking the McDonald’s App and the McRib Locator website to plan your attack
