Jimmy Fallon serenades Stephen Colbert with a poignant and funny song

March 6, 2026

Two men in suits stand on a talk show desk with their arms around each other. One holds a microphone.

Stephen Colbert interviewed Jimmy Fallon on Thursday's edition of The Late Show, and the result was equal parts amusing, nostalgic, and poignant.

In the clip above the pair spend time reminiscing on everything from the various bits they've done together over the years (including the Strike Force Five podcast) to the time they travelled to meet the Pope (Colbert shares the texts he sent Fallon when The Tonight Show host decided to do some comedy bits moments before the Pope was due to walk in the room).

The interview ends with Fallon present Colbert with a portrait he's had made for him, and then serenading him with a version of Frank Sinatra's "My Way":

"And now, the end is near
And so you face, the final curtain
But Trump, he made it clear
He wants you gone, of that we're certain

You've been, a gracious host
We've loved you since, the old Report days
And more, much more than this
You did it your way."

Thankfully, we still have two-and-a-half more months of The Late Show to go.
